Interstate and Intrastate Long Distance
For long distance savings, call on Prodial. In my high-school Latin class I learned that Inter meant “between” and that Intra meant “within” — so Inter-state long distance is a long distance call between two states and an Intra-state call is long-distance within a state — calling, for instance, from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia.
When you choose a long distance carrier, you will often find the only rate listed is the interstate rate. But your bill will also reflect intrastate, local toll calls and international long distance calls.
So the lowest rate you see advertised may not mean the lowest total phone bill for you!
